NEW BEGINNINGS
Happy New Year 2024!
I have decided to launch a blog this year to promote some of my creations. My primary creation is greeting cards for friends and family. I have posted on my Facebook page many of the cards I have put together. Several others I have sent and forgotten to take a picture before mailing them. As I make new ones perhaps I can pull together a tutorial so you can recreate something similar.
During the 2023 Holiday season I dabbled with creating some snack boards for special gatherings. My daughter-in-law declared that I should be in charge of snack boards every year because she liked the one I had made for a get-to-gether last holiday season. So this year I expanded. On Thanksgiving we generally snack while watching Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Thanksgiving dinner sometimes takes place later in the afternoon so a snack board wards of some hunger pains. Then we had a small family gathering for a Christmas celebration so I made another board. And I decided to do a board for the work Christmas party. So I did some cheese and some meat and 50 fruit kabobs.
Then just yesterday I created a 5-person impromptu breakfast board with biscuits, waffles, sausage gravy, and fruit. We cooked up some eggs (fried and scrambled). So each one could choose from the board what items one preferred and put them on the plate before warming in the microwave.
After breakfast and before the Rose Parade crackers and cheese appeared on the board so we could have snacks during the parade. What fun.
In 2018 I discovered loop yarn and began a journey with finger knitting. This unique yarn has built-in loops so needles and hooks are not needed, just fingers. It is wonderful therapy since the yarn is very soft and soothing. In fact several faux fur yarns appeared on the market for a while. With this yarn I made hats, scarves, blankets, shawls, bed and chair throws, and even a pillow. I have not completed any loop yarn projects in some years now, but I have not forgotten the joy of yarn creations. I have plenty of yarn stashed away. The grand girls are due for a real blanket soon.
So what can you expect here? Blessed are they who expect nothing for they shall not be disappointed. Don't know how frequently I will post or what I will post, but I am making a start.
Please keep in touch.
