I Made Some Cards

It's November 22, 2024. As you can tell this blog has been at the top of my mind and to do list all year long. Ha. It is not that I haven't done cards this year. Here are some pictures to prove it.

A librarian friend celebrated her birthday in March. I used some special kit papers to create this book themed card. I usually create a card with stamped images, but I had these great themed papers so used them instead of stamping book shelves. I thought it was a nice librarian to librarian card.

In June I participated in Justine Hovey's Fearless Cardmaking in Minutes Challenge. Each day of the 3 focused on one part of cardmaking and gave us some limits so we would not belabor the process. So first we had to pick something in our stash that would simplify the process. I chose a cover die. Now how to color it. I tried coloring parts of the die, but the color did not come out smooth. Then I tried blending pastel colors on the base of the card to create a light, airy rainbow of color, Well, no bow. Then I put the white cover over the color. Here it is. I liked the simple look and it certainly is easy to make in minutes. This would be a great card to mass product and then slap sentiments on as needed.

In that same Challenge our third assignment was to incorporate the Rule of Thirds. So I started with a slimline die with 3 windows and added a dino to each window. The young dinosaur lover I gave it to as a birthday card enjoyed it very much.

Around mid June my niece had a baby, so I sent this birth card. Since the father's name is Golden, I call this the Golden Boy card.

I have made a number of cards since June. I will post them in the next few days. Currently I am working on some Thanksgiving cards for family and I have created a few Christmas cards as well.

Since Thanksgiving is coming up, I am also planning may Thanksgiving charcuterie spread for Thursday morning. While we watch the Macy's parade, we graze on an appetizer spread since the meal will be mid afternoon ish. So watch for pictures of that as well.
